A Free 6-Page Monthly Budget Planner (Printable PDF)

If you keep "meaning to budget" but never start, a paper tracker can break the ice. I made a simple free 6-page monthly budget planner you can print at home — no email signup, no cost, just download and use.

What's inside the planner

  1. Monthly budget page — income, fixed bills, variable spending, and a planned-vs-actual column so you see where the month really went.
  2. Weekly spending tracker — log spending once a week (5 minutes on Sunday). Weekly check-ins beat daily tracking because they're easier to stick to.
  3. Savings goal tracker — pick one goal (emergency fund, vacation, debt), set a target, and shade in progress each month.
  4. Debt payoff tracker — list each debt with balance and interest rate, then record payments and watch the balances fall.

It's a standard letter-size PDF — print double-sided or single-sided, whichever you prefer. Fill it in with a pen each month, or reuse a sheet protector with a dry-erase marker.

How to use it (5 minutes a week)

  • 1st of the month: fill in income and known bills on the monthly budget page.
  • Every Sunday: spend 5 minutes on the weekly spending tracker and compare against plan.
  • End of month: update the savings and debt trackers, then start a fresh month page.

Why paper?

Apps are great (we compare the best ones here), but a paper planner has no notifications, no subscriptions, and no learning curve. For many beginners, writing numbers by hand makes spending feel real — which is exactly what changes habits.
